To every pro-lifer!

We just received word that the SB-1238 bill, requiring parental consent before children can receive an abortion, has gone down to defeat. Classified as a voice vote (count was said to be taken by representatives standing for yea or nea) the bill lost and is classified as "dead." "Dead," much like many babies who will be killed this Saturday at abortion mills in Arizona.

I am very disappointed in the legislature but I MUST ask each of you this question:

Where are you on Saturday mornings when we are in front of the abortuaries praying? Why are there small turnouts for the Lenten Rosary series?

I have never changed my position on the winning of the war against abortion. It is prayer and effort. This has always been a spiritual battle with the lives of innocent babies at stake, the souls of confused mothers and fathers at stake.

Do we really care enough about these children, these parents, to get out to the mills on Saturday mornings. In the past several days, I have once again heard more excuses of why people are not out there.

The failure to pass this bill is only one more in a long line of legislative failures. And though I believe we must continue to introduce and fight for legislation to protect pre-born children, if you really care about the child, why aren't you are at the mill praying? Why don't you bring friends with you to pray?

We sure know how to pray when we are sick, and we don't hesitate to drive a distance to get to the doctor for a medical appointment, but we can't get to the abortuary. We seem to have no problem scheduling weddings, parties, picnics, but can't schedule one hour for the child when he or she is about to be murdered.

Please, please, get to the Acacia Women Center, 3417 N. 32nd Street, in Phoenix (very easy to find!) for the 9:30 start time on Saturday. Saturday Mass before the Rosary will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell, at 8:30 am.

And if you are offended by my "tone" in this message, believe me, my greatest desire and all my efforts have been to end abortion in Arizona. Sometimes the truth may hurt but I can't bear to think about the "hurt" that beautiful little babies go through at abortion mills, while people drive by the location on their way to shopping malls and club meeting.
