LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Here's five dollars to help out with CoR debt. Today I only have $20 to my name but if everyone today just gives five dollars today, let's just say - 5,000 people, that's $25,000!! Praise God!

One of the best things about CoR is that is totally volunteer and all proceeds go to ending abortions!

Asha Bowers

Tami and I have included a small donation to help the unborn children. Someday when we both graduate college, (approximately two years) we will be happy to donate much, much more. Until then may your holy task be as effective as it can be.

I would like to receive a sample of your newsletter. My address is:

I think your new policy [re: your letter of September 12, 1995] is most reasonable. Enclosed is my donation for 1995.

After hearing about the lawsuit in the news, my husband called me from work to say that he was writing out a check for a donation to Children of the Rosary.

Our feelings are that not only does your group fight abortion and stand up for the babies but for the rest of us who have not found the courage.

Thank you for giving the rest of us a fine example of what the early Christians had done. The good news is that this time the lions aren't going to get us! God bless you in your efforts in defense of the Faith and the babies!

Mary Summerton
Scottsdale, AZ

Have you ever felt embarrassed and ashamed because of something someone did? That's how I felt when I read the newspaper article about your lawsuit, yours or Children of the Rosary. I think what you are doing is adbominable.

You owe Phoenix Transit System an apology. It shows some immaturity. You're getting "Big Brother" to go after someone because they won't do what you want. It's wrong to force your ideas or beliefs on people. Jesus never does that. Your rights end when they infringe on someone elses'. Read 1 Corintheians, Chapters 13, especially verse 4. Also 1 Corinthians, Chapter 6, verse 7. What you're doing doesn't show a Christ-like attitude and gives the pro-life movement a bad reputation. Did you ever think that it [sign] would offend others?

It's wrong, wrong, wrong! I ask you to please stop it!

BITS AND PIECES

Limits on abortion are called for in an editorial opposing view in USA Today, August 14, 1995, by Mary Spauding Balch, state legislative director of National Right to Life Committee. She stated , "The mainstream majority of Americans is being effectively disenfranchised by this stanglehold of pro-abortion zealots, leaving abortion law in a state of extremism that defies reasonableness and common sense." The entire debate can be found on page 10A. Check your local library for outdated newspapers.

Abortionist Herbert Remer has been charged for negligence in Des Moines, IA by the Board of Medical examiners for his lack of action in the delivery of a child. The mother, who bled to death, is the latest victim of this abortionist. The doctor has faced similar charges in the past.

Congressman Jim Kolbe, AZ, has shown his pro-abortion leaning by his support of Pete Wilson for President. Not only is Pete Wilson out of the race, Kolbe's position for baby-killing has been clarified.

ABC news reports blasted over the airwaves on October 7, 1995 "State Appeals Court held that a viable fetus is a child under state law and the state has the right to protect that fetus. The court leaned heavily on Roe v. Wade. The story continued: "Wisconsin Appeals Court upheld the decision that a woman, an alleged cocaine addict, was forcably detained in a detoxification center in an effort to protect her unborn child."

Presidential candidate Alan Keyes' supporters were ejected from the infamous Perot meeting of presidential hopefuls. Life Advocate magazine, October, 1995 reports that United We Stand informed all speakers not to emphasize the abortion issue. Though abortion was frowned upon as a topic, Alan Keyes ignored it and boldly spoke up against abortion. Keyes supporters at their information booth were forced to turn off their videos that showed graphic images of abortion. The Keyes people were forced to leave the area. A Justice Department probe is being requested.

Life Activist Newsletter reported that the new Life Dynamics Inc. book and video will soon be available. Send letter of inquiry to; Life Dynamics, P.O. Box 2226, Denton, Tx 76202. This group also encourages you to send any information you have on abortionists to them to help them in possible upcoming challenges in court or trails concerning abortionists. Their quarterly newsletter is available for $15 subscription fee.

Abortionist Lawson Akpulonu has finally been stopped! He had been charged in numerous cases, such as 14 counts of Medi-Cal fraud, of brandishing a firearm and of carrying a concealed weapon, but had always been given light judgements. This summer, though, he has been charged with three counts of rape. Pending the outcome of the charges, his license was suspended but he apparently kept on doing abortions. Life Advocate, October, 1995 reported that when the police raided his offices they found containers filled with aborted children. The mill was described as "filthy." The abortionist has fled has been declared a fugitive from the law.

K-MART IS OFF THE LIST!

K-Mart has been boycotted for several years because they defiantly continued to profit from the sale of pornography though their subsidiaries, Waldenbooks and Borders. American Family Association, (AFA) led by Donald Wildmon, began the boycott and doggedly encouraged other groups to stand with them in the fight to end pornography. Though our fight has always been directly aimed at abortion, pornography does affect the mentality and spiritual life of an individual and the two evils are connected.

We are delighted to remove K-Mart from our boycott list now. This statement from a press release from Don Wildmon is clear evidence of the victory of AFA:

"The new Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer for K-mart stated, 'The purpose of my letter today is to inform you and your supporters that K-Mart, under my leadership, will honor its tradition as a family-oriented store that shares many of the same values as your organization. As I hope you know, recently K-Mart completed the total sale of all of our book subsidiaries and no longer has any affiliation with Waldenbooks or Borders. With this action completed, I hope that AFA will end its recommended boycott of K-mart. "I hope this draws to a close our past differences and I look forward to working with you and your fine organization."
This must be considered a huge success and the boycott was effective because of you! By avoiding K-mart, sales had dropped, stores closed and a change of heart took place.

It is important to mention that those people who say boycotts are unchristian must realize that they can not knowingly allow their dollars to go to any company that supports evil, whether it be pornography or abortion.

Shopping at Bashas or A.J. Foods, Target or Mervins because of a special sale, or because of convenience is not acceptable. To gloss over the thinly-disguised trick of collecting grocery store receipts for school computers is not acceptable. When you know that the Basha family not only supports abortion but directly gives Planned Parenthood money, it is not acceptable to deal with them in any way, for any group, any reason. Perhaps, someday, Eddie Basha will see the light, like Mr. Hall of K-mart saw it. - K.S.
