CHINA UPDATE

Henry Wu is missing! Major American media sources report June 26 that Henry Wu, a naturalized United States citizen since 1993, seemed to have disappeared during his current trip into China. Henry Wu, a human-rights activist, suffered in prison for 19 years, in China. In recent years he has exposed the atrocities taking place in China. He substantiated the Chinese government practice of executing political prisoners for the profitable harvesting of human organs. Is it that China can not afford to have anymore of their hellish practices exposed to the civilized world that Wu had dropped from sight?

In a March 14, 1995 report, Amnesty International, U.S.A. confirmed the diabolical methods of the Chinese government. Some examples they cite: villagers' allegations that single women, detained to make families pay fines, were 'beaten and sexually abused' (Union of Catholic Asian News (UCAN), 15 February 1995.) ....One man could not bear to see his wife tortured in a cell for days [so he] attempted to sell their children in Beijing, the UCAN report says. It cites one source as alleging that [in Lingshou county] a divorced woman was forcibly sterilized and other women pregnant eight or nine months were given injections against their will to induce miscarriages.

Although The Arizona Republic, June 2, 1995 printed an Associated Press story relating similar facts, the mainstream media has not picked up the ball and run with it. In addition to the above information, the Chinese government's monstrous policies were detailed in a report by a U. S. Senator. Some of these facts were summarized in the CoR May Newsgram.

Last month we brought you the horrible news of the practice of the Chinese people eating pre-born children. It has been difficult for people to accept the fact that the Chinese can use the pre-born babies as a health food.

This follow-up article shows confirmation of this modern-day cannibalism by presenting a few more facts. The following report comes from Routers, May, 1995, called An Unspeakable Delicacy.

"Senator Jessie Helms, presiding last week in a hearing room of the Foreign Relations Committee, warned listeners who came with a fullstomach 'I hope most of you in the audience skipped your breakfast this morning because I'm afraid the subject which we will be discussing is a particularly gruesome one.'

"It was an apt beginning. What followed was about a half-dozen witnesses who gave compelling documentation complete with videotape footage documentation of China's illegal, not to mention abhorrent trade in human body parts. Reports that China harvests vital organs from prisoners for transplant are not new but mounting evidence of a worse sort is emerging from the Hong Kong press. Aborted fetuses in China are gaining popularity as a health tonic, sold in private clinics and restaurants. And like the trade in human organs, taking on black market value in some areas now.

The doctor eventually emerged from the operating theater, holding a fist-sized glass bottle, stuffed with thumb-sized fetuses.

"To investigate wide-spread rumors that unborn human beings were being slaughtered and eaten to improve complexions, promote general well-being,, an Eastern Express reporter, on March 1st, entered the state-run Women's Health Center for women and children and requested a fetus for a feigned illness. A female doctor told the reporter that the department had run out of fetuses but to come back. The next day, according to the paper, the reporter returned at lunchtime. The doctor eventually emerged from the operating theater, holding a fist-sized glass bottle, stuffed with thumb-sized fetuses. She said, 'There are ten fetuses here. All aborted just this morning. You can take them. We are a state-run hospital here and don't charge anything. Normally, we doctors take them home to eat, all free, but since you don't look so well, you can take them.' "

As shocked as the civilized world was to hear the abhorrent actions of the Chinese, it has not seemingly affected the United States media. This form of cannibalism was never mentioned by the "mainline" media. Brave newspaper columnists, like William Cheshire, the Christian Crusade Newspaper, the Christian Broadcast Network and a few radio talk show programs were the only ones to sound the alarm!

We quote from the Gospel of Life by Pope John Paul II........

"The Pharaoh of old, haunted by the presence and increase of the children of Israel, submitted them to every kind of oppression and ordered that every male child born of the Hebrew women was to be killed (cf. ExI 1:7-22). Today not a few of the powerful of the earth act in the same way. They too are haunted by the current demographic growth, and fear that the most prolific and poorest peoples represent a threat for the well-being and peace of their own countries. Consequently, rather than wishing to face and solve these serious problems with respect for the dignity of individuals and families and for every person's inviolable right to life, they prefer to promote and impose by whatever means a massive programme of birth control. Even the economic help which they would be ready to give is unjustly made conditional on the acceptance of an anti-birth policy.

"Humanity today offers us a truly alarming spectacle, if we consider not only how extensively attacks on life are spreading but also their unheard-of numerical proportion, and the fact that they receive widespread and powerful support from a broad consensus on the part of society, from widespread legal approval and the involvement of certain sectors of health-care personnel."

Even sadder, within days of this horrid news, the Clinton administration renewed China's most-favored-nation status with the United States. We remind you that the United Nations Population Control will be meeting in Beijing this year. There will be a global tragedy if the Chinese government's pro-death, cannibalistic mentality is allowed to spread!

FOSTER NOMINATION DIES IN THE SENATE

On June 22, 1995, opponents in the U. S. Senate, amidst a heated discussion, blocked the nomination of Dr. Henry Foster to the position of Surgeon General.

Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, who opposed the Tennessee obstetrician-gynecologist, planned to pull the nomination from the Senate floor_ effectively shelving it for good. President Clinton, who had first put Foster up for nomination in February, disagreed with this action.

Foster had many problems besides his position on the abortion issue, despite the media trying to blame the pro-lifers for blocking the nomination of - what they called - "A good and decent man who has committed his whole life to service..."

Foster suffered a lack of credibility with the American people in that not only did he lie about his participation in abortions (he first claimed a handful, then later admitted to participating in an experiment which involved a degree of 'about 100 or more' abortions), but also, he seemed to have moments in his career which were less than 'good and decent.

For example, in the 1920s, he participated in sterilizing large numbers of mentally-challenged women. His excuse was 'everyone did it' but even a PBS documentary said that the procedure was highly controversial and was thought of by many doctors, even in the 1920s, as unethical and immoral.

Possibly the low point in his career was his part in the Tuskegee Study. This government study infected several African-American men with syphilis, a deadly disease which ends in death after rendering its victim either totally paralyzed (locomotor ataxia) or, worse yet, in an alzheimer condition (general paresis) as the third stage. The African-American men were not told of the disease so that they could be studied as to the effects of the disease. Although Foster denied any connection to the study, a letter was found telling of a committee meeting about the experiment and showing approval of it. It was signed by several physicians, including Foster.

One would understand why Dr. Foster would disavow his connection with this ghastly experiment on his African-American brothers - it is a mind-blower that he, at least, didn't walk away from it! A real human being would have risked his life to blow the whistle on it, perhaps saving several innocent human beings from a horrible death.

Thank Heavens, despite a media all too enthusiastic about hacking and slicing unborn babies in the name of 'freedom," some sane folks in the Senate saw fit to stop this rather frightening character from becoming Surgeon General.

According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a research group affiliated with Planned Parenthood, about 10% of the estimated 1.6 million abortions done each year are in the second and third trimesters.

A horrible procedure known as D&X involves the taking of the life of a premature infant outside of the womb. The procedure is reminiscent of bizarre Nazi medical experiments carried out during Hitler's secret campaign of the 'final solution of the Jewish problem in Europe.' This procedure is being used to harvest living tissue for the purposes of conducting bizarre medical experiments in the area of human fetal tissue research and transplantation. MY DAILY PRAYER

Dear Guardian Angel,
You are always so
watchful over me. I
thank you for your
gentle protection, for
your loving spiritual nudges.
I am coming to you because you
can help me in this problem.
I need more people to pray in front of abortion mills. I have done everything I can think of and prayed persistently for the end of abortion. Everyone in Children of the Rosary continually prays to stop this holocaust.
How do I convince them to come to the mills, though? Don't they see how many babies can be saved by their presence?
Could you ask their angel to give them a little nudge?

A GREAT BASIC QUESTION!

After we had finished the rosary in front of an abortion mill, Northwest Women's Clinic, one of our pro-lifers expressed the following concern. She felt by listing the abortion mills we pray in front of, in the Newsgram, are we not advertising the locations and perhaps encouraging more abortions?

It is a good question, but here is the easy answer. Unfortunately, abortion mills have been thriving for 23 years. It is doubtful that a woman seeking an abortion would be aided by the listing of our pray sites. It is very probable, though, that: she would avoid these locations, for fear of having a group of people witness her going into the mill. Secondly; anyone picking up a Newsgram or Newsletter, probably will read it, especially if she is considering an abortion. Just reading the facts about the horror of abortion on mother, child, father and family would be enough to send her to a pro-life clinic or center.

I believe personally that due to all the people who are praying for the success of Children of the Rosary, due to all the prayers we lift up to Our Savior for the end of abortion, and due to all the Religious and secular groups who have personally committed prayers for the success of our movement, no woman will fall into the grasp of Satan by picking up our publication.

God is good, just, so loving and merciful. We are only His servants, trying our best to achieve salvation. I believe He will continue to watch over our work and protect it.

I ask you all to continue to pray for the purpose of ending abortion now. It is necessary though for us to be at the mills, praying. It is wonderful to meet so many pro-lifers. It is heartbreaking to find out so few have set aside an hour to pray for our babies as they die at the hands of greedy people who seek to end not just the child's life but the generations that would have come later. - By Katherine Sabelko

Officers from Children of the Rosary attended the Open House for More Choices. More Choices is a pro-life group whose aim is to be of aid to women in crisis. At this time, their plans are to be a safety net for women who had appointments at Planned Parenthood (several hundred feet north of More Choices). The volunteers at More Choices will counsel and direct women to the crisis pregnancy center most suited to them.

IN THE NEWS

"Doug Johnson, legislative director at the National Right to Life Committee, whose group has long documented China's abortion policies, told Human Events magazine in Washington, D.C., "There is an extensive abortion web in China....and this is apparently one of its most gruesome, horrific dimensions." Christian Crusade Newspaper.

While millions of C-Span viewers listened to the debate on the Foster nomination, Republican Senator Robert Smith explained a D&X abortion procedure in detail on the floor of the Senate. As he referred to a black and white diagram, he held a small baby doll. The drawing showed how the abortionist delivers the child's body but leaves the head in the birth canal to perform legal murder. In the simple, yet riveting explanation, Sen. Smith showed how the scissors were inserted into the back of the pre-born baby's head and the brains were sucked out to ensure the child would be born dead. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Senator from New Hampshire for his stand against abortion!

Last year, scientists agreed that genetic findings lead them to believe that mankind began with a common mother. Surprise, Surprise! This month, in Time magazine, these scientists once again concluded that we have a common father. Christians call them Adam and Eve. Sorry, Mr. Darwin - you lose!

Archaeologists have made new historical findings in the Egyptian lands. U.S. News & World Report covered the new findings in "The Mysteries of the Bible," April 17, 1995. One finding, well known to all, was the rediscovery of King Ramus' tomb. Begrudgingly, experts now say that they can establish that some of the Bible stories are authentic. How far we've come to find we have traveled such a short distance!

Senator Barbara Boxer (D - California) became enraged when Sen. Robert Smith explained a D&X abortion. She was incensed, claiming "that the poor pages [on the Senate floor] were exposed to that graphic display." Needless to say, everyone knows that any of those pages could walk out the door and have the procedure done on their child, with no parental consent required! Perhaps she is afraid her constituents will understand, finally, how horrible a death the innocent child must endure. She didn't seem to want to let Sen. Smith have a choice of educating the public about abortionists!
