Tuesday, April 24, I was present with three of my nine children in front of the Supreme Court as the Nebraska state law against partial-birth abortion was challenged. They argued whether or not executing a small child in the process of being born is a woman's constitutional right.
Present were some notable pro-life leaders: Joe Scheidler of Pro Life Action League in Chicago; Rev. Joseph Foreman, one of the founders of Operation Rescue; Troy Newman of Operation Rescue West in California; Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America; Rev. Frank Pavone of Priests For Life; Rev. Pat Mahoney of Christian Defense Coalition, based in D.C.
It was raining a steady downpour all morning. Some of the pro-lifers had been there day and night praying and fasting since Sunday. In the large area in front of the steps to the Supreme Court, large signs had been erected. One was an actual photo of a baby killed by partial-birth abortion, another was of a late-term baby that had been beheaded in the procedure. Yet another was a five-frame depiction of the entire partial birth abortion procedure.
Rev. Pat Mahoney of Christian Defense Coalition and Troy Newman of Operation Rescue West had negotiated with the Court for months concerning the signs and the setting up of a sound system and microphone. The Court had agreed to allow the signs. They knew the exact size and dimension of each sign, and the content of the signs. They agreed to allow the signs. Permits were issued for the signs!
Shortly after the Justices would have entered the building, a written order from the U.S. Marshal Service, located inside the Supreme Court, ordered that the signs be removed! Quoting a regulation concerning signs in Lafayette Park — across the street — they claimed the signs were too big and had to be removed. It should be noted that the U.S. Marshal Service does not have jurisdiction in front of the Court, but the Supreme Court Police, who had been on duty all along, had no objection to the signs, which were legally erected.
The signs had been placed there on Sunday, and the permit allowed them to remain up until Tuesday afternoon. This was the third day they had been up, but suddenly they were illegal! The Supreme Court allowed the U.S. Marshal service to carry out the enforcement, thus proving that they don't have any integrity, either.
Rev. Pat Mahoney announced the action to the crowd. In a passionate talk, he proclaimed that the Free Speech Rights of Christians would not be suppressed in front of the very center of American Justice. He said that he and Troy Newman of Operation Rescue West had been threatened with arrest if they did not remove the signs. He announced that they would NOT remove the signs that it was obvious that these signs which portrayed the truth of what was being argued, were having an effect. He asked pro-lifers to sit in front of the signs and continue to pray, realizing that they might face arrest if they did not move when ordered to.
Rev. Mahoney, Rev. Foreman, Troy Newman and 20 others Christians were arrested by Supreme Court Police and taken to jail for refusing to remove signs for which they had negotiated the placement of for months; and for which they had lawful permits!
But, let's face it: if they'll be complicit in the gruesome murder of 40 million children, they'll do ANYTHING.
Saving babies is the most important work we can do - it emcompasses all other ministries when you really think about the effort of reaching out to those who do not know of God's great love and mercy. It helps protect women from physical and mental abuse. It continually reminds people others are less fortunate. By this work, families are cared for, good medical services are advertised. It shows the value of faithfulness in marriage.
Yet, we face a very serious situation now. Children of the Rosary has spent most of the funds in the bank account. We have to continue to send out newsletters to keep you informed of the current news and action alerts but we have no more funds for the projects that have proven to help save babies unless....
We need your donations now! The question of cost should never be considered when we talk about the value of one human life, yet now we face the crisis of perhaps not being able to reach out to the community, because of money.
Not one child should die because we didn't have enough money to get God's Word of Love and Mercy out!
All funds sent to Children of the Rosary have gone directly to fighting abortion. All work is voluntary and no one receives any benefits (except lots of graces!) from the efforts of keeping Children of the Rosary going!
Just how much are the babies worth? Please send in your check today so we can continue the work that has closed six abortuaries in the Valley!

Thanks to the efforts of Tom Takash, Children of the Rosary will have a different message on the billboard sign that has been at 27th Avenue and Thomas Rd. in Phoenix. The sign will soon be even more powerful as we will have the sign moving around the Valley of the Sun. The next location the billboard will be viewed is on 75th Avenue, just north of Northern Ave. This road is heavily traveled by college students attending college in the area.
In the artwork, by Infinity, our group's name, Children of the Rosary, is displayed clearly on the billboard, which is a wonderful way to spread the word about CoR.

The Supreme Court reclaimed center stage in the legal and moral war over abortion Friday by agreeing to decide whether states may ban a surgical procedure opponents call "partial-birth abortion."
The justices are reviewing a Nebraska law that made it a crime for doctors to perform partial-birth abortions. A federal appeals court blocked enforcement of that law, calling it unconstitutional.
Nearly identical laws have been enacted by 30 states, but courts have blocked enforcement of most of them. Congress enacted a federal ban on partial-birth abortions but President Clinton vetoed it and almost 30 states passed laws banning partial-birth abortions but Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal have blocked enforcement of them.
Nebraska's abortion challenge will be the first major threat against Roe vs. Wade U. S. Supreme Court Case that legalized the killing of preborn children up to the moment of birth -- perhaps it should be clarified - up to the moment the child can glup a quick breath of air and scream for help!
In unanimously striking down the Nebraska law, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the law's wording could also outlaw a more common procedure called dilation and evacuation, or D&E. "Such a prohibition places an undue burden on the right of women to choose whether to have an abortion," the appeals court ruled.
A month after the Nebraska law was struck down along with those in Iowa and Arkansas, nearly identical abortion laws in Illinois and Wisconsin were upheld by another federal appeals court. That created a direct conflict legal experts predicted would require the Supreme Court's final word.
Lawyers representing abortionist Leroy Carhart, who performs partial-birth abortions in
Nebraska, urged the justices to reject Stenberg's appeal because the appeals court correctly concluded that the law would interfere with
most abortions performed after a woman's third month of pregnancy. The case granted Friday is Stenberg vs. Carhart, 99-830.

Christopher Reeves, until recently best known for his role as Superman, has sunk to new lows in his attempt to find a solution to spinal cord injuries. After a fall from a horse left him severely injured, Reeves has pushed for the U. S. Government to spend more money on research to find methods to repair severed spinal cord nerves.
In an article, Times Magazine , April 12, Reeves pushed to stop the ban of federally funded testing of preborn baby tissue and cells. His statement, "While we prolong the stem-cell debate, millions continue to suffer. It is time to harness the power of the government and go forward."
Not to be harsh, but was Reeves so concerned about this research until he personally was affected? No. In the statement he said "...millions continue to suffer." Yes, millions of innocent preborn children that Reeves wants to use for experimentation. We do agree on one portion of his statement. "It is time to harness the power of the government and go forward."
Perhaps if we could harness the Roe Vs. Wade government, we all would be better off. States then could follow through with their efforts to protect mothers and babies.
Children of the Rosary stealth reporter, GC, sent this report in concerning the Nebraska pro-life prayer warriors:
Here is a letter in Lincoln Journal Star, written by a good priest, the pastor of old St. Mary's, across from the Capital.
They are at Planned Parenthood 24 hours a day, as well as at Leroy Carhart's church down the street, on Sunday mornings.
Thanks To A Mom
There was a recent letter in the paper criticizing those who are praying in shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at Planned Parenthood's building where abortions take place. The criticism was using Matthew 6:5, about people standing on streets looking for attention.First of all, it's good to know that the praying is pricking at least one conscience about this matter of abortion.
Secondly, the people who are praying at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning are probably not going to be noticed since few people are driving at such hours.
Actually, we are doing what we set out to do -- pray! We aren't picketing. (That's done to help the public take notice.) It isn't protest marching either. (That is done to try to alert the public to take a stand for something vital.)
Why would a 78-year-old lady go out and stand every day (but one) at different times to pray? To get noticed? She's been married for 56 years! No, she's committed to the pro-life cause, to the principles of the Declaration of Independence that life is an inalienable, God-given right. She can see what more than 40 million known abortions since 1973 have done to damage the social fabric of our society by creating a real shortage of workers. She can also see how abortions have undercut our Social Security system and really put it all at risk, and she understands how abortion can threaten older people with future euthanasia in this country because there aren't enough young people now to take care of the ballooning number of older people.
That 78-year-old (5 foot tall) "little old lady" is my mother. Have you thanked your mom for life?

Thank you for printing the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth! I've noticed over the years that you do print information and facts, with no glossing over of who is responsible.
I have not found you ever avoiding information or comments in the Letters To the Editor that have even personally attacked you.
Congratulations on truth in reporting!

Ed. Note: A CoR supporter sent a letter to Bishop Thomas J. O'Brien, inviting him to the Lenten Rosaries Series. We are pleased to publish his response.
Thank you for keeping me informed of the efforts of Children of the Rosary to pray for a change of heart by those performing and seeking abortions. I commend the dedication of those who regularly gather to attend Mass, pray the Rosary and peacefully march at the sites where abortions are provided.
Over the years I have participated many times in rallies, marches and other events, which bring public attention to the evil that is abortion. I have written articles and consistently encourage the use of Diocesan resources, especially the Catholic Sun to keep the Church's pro-life message before our people. I support the efforts of the Diocesan Office of Life Issues, directed by Ms. Judy Gifford.
While I acknowledge that more can always be done and I challenge myself to maintain a visible and active presence on the pro-life stage, I regret I cannot schedule myself for participation in the weekly marches that take place across the Diocese. You who march are my representatives. Your presence challenges the conscience of those who provide abortions, while praying for a change of heart for those who may falsely believe that they have no other alternative than to abort the child they carry.
May the Lord continue to bless your good work.
Faithfully yours in Christ,
Most Reverent Thomas J/ O'Brien
Ed. Note: We are most grateful for Bishop O'Brien's encouraging words!
The March issue of your newsletter included an article by Lisa Marie Contini exposing the pro-abortionists' lies regarding a woman's right to choose. She challenged these supposed defenders of women's rights, wondering where these people are when women are forcibly brought in to the abortion mills against their will.
The article hit home with me. Recently, at Dr. Tamis' abortion mill we witnessed a man use intimidation and later physical abuse on his wife or "friend" so that she could exercise her "freedom to choose". We had talked with her earlier before she had entered the mill, and it was obvious that she felt trapped by certain physical problems and was not in favor of an abortion, but her "friend" ended that conversation abruptly and, while not physically forcing her at that point, he intimidated her so that she entered the mill with him.
A short time later they came out, and we called to her to talk to her. She started to respond, at which point her "friend" grabbed her from behind, put one hand over here mouth and physically held her and pushed her back in to the mill.
We called the police. They entered the mill and spoke with her. But by the time they arrived she was already in a robe, waiting her turn for an abortion, and according to them seemed quite upset. She declined to press assault charges against the man, and there was nothing the police could do. I guess the pro-abortionists, pardon me, the pro-choice people, would consider her abortion another victory for women's rights.

Did you know the Mormon church now allows abortions in five cases: i.e. risk to the mother's life, deformity, incest, rape, risk to the mother's health? I have not seen this mentioned at all in your Newsletter!
The Mormon church is converting hundreds of thousands to these abortions each year. Please get the facts at www.castlenet.com/~life4utah.
The following statements, on the site referred to, is only a fraction of the information provided. Many Latter-Day Saints have no idea their Church has changed its pro-life stance to a pro-death agenga.
Recently, Mormon Church President Gordon B. Hinckley, for the first time publicly announced the tragic current position of the Mormon Church on abortion: "We make allowance in such circumstances as when pregnancy is the result of incest or rape, when the life or HEALTH of the mother is judged by competent medical authority to be in serious jeopardy, or when the fetus is known by competent medical authority to have serious defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth. But such instances are rare, and there is only a negligible probability of their occurring. In these circumstances those who face the question are asked to consult with their local ecclesiastical leaders and to pray in great earnestness, RECEIVING A CONFIRMATION THROUGH PRAYER BEFORE PROCEEDING." Ed. Note: The facts presented are truly very sad. I join with Judy Brown, American Life League, in her statement on this issue and stress much prayer is needed for leaders who mislead their people.
I know that many readers of your Newsletter are on the Internet. Since Amazon.com is a major site on the Internet where people order books, music and other items, I wanted to mention that Amazon.Com now supports Planned Parenthood, big time!
Planned Parenthood even touts the money they raise from using their link to go to Amazon!
For anyone is not familiar with navigating the Internet but has access to a computer link up, all they need to do is enter "http://www.amazon.com" in the URL space, then click it on. Every site has a feedback link, or a webmaster link, so I would suggest everyone notify them through their own site, telling them that pro-lifers will not deal with companies that support abortion!

Dear Volunteers
Enclosed is my check to cover the great work you are doing for countless people.
Would it be possible to send me a list of manufacturers/products that support Planned Parenthood and abortion? I gave away all my copies before I had a chance to make copies for distribution. Thank you and God bless all of you!

Ed. Note: To keep updated on corporations and companies, an excellent source is St. Antoninus Press found on the Internet at: http://www.ewtn.com/antonin/listab.htm This is a free information page for your use. There are other groups that provide names of corporations that support Planned Parenthood but they charge for their list and it can not be used by anyone else so the restrictions are too high for the average pro-life activist.
Abortionist Bruce Steir, facing murder charges, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Steir has not denied that during an abortion, he punctured the uterus of a 27-year-old woman, and knowing that it had happened still chose to leave for the airport.
The victim, Sharon Hampton, bled to death on the way home from the abortion mill. Involuntary man- slaugher? No. We call it murder - of mother and child.
The sale of fetal tissue issue has been brought to the state House of Representatives by Rep. Phill Kline. The bill would restrict the sale of baby tissue to no more than $25, including the cost of packing the tissue in ice and shipping it. Even pro-abortion Rep. Tom Klein (D) from Wichita said, "Nobody should be allowed to profit from the transfer of fetal tissue."
State Senator Tom Buford sponsored a Baby Abandonment Bill that would encourage new mothers to choose the option of giving their newborn babies to the state rather than throwing them in dumpsters.
The baby would be handed over anonymously to emergency room personnel, firefighters, or police, if the child is less than 72 hours old. Alabama passed a similar bill two years ago and five newborns have been saved in this manner.

Kentucky's Informed Consent/24-Hour Waiting Period law is being defended in U.S. District Court. Dr. John Gianopoulos, Chairman of Obstetrics aaand Gynecology at the Loyolla University School of Medicine in Chicago testified, "In my opinion it does not put any undue burden on the practitioner or the patient." He explained that most elective surgeries require a patient to visit the doctor for the diagnosis, then review the options, and only then return to the doctor for the medical procedure.
Support for assisted suicide has radically changed in only two years. Bangor Daily News reported that in April there was only 38% support of assisted suicide versus 71% support in 1998. Voters will decide on the legalization of this type of murder in the November election.
The first case to be tried under Maryland's new assisted-suicide law is a tragic story of two teenagers who had planned a double suicide. After the 15-year-old girl, Kristen Riggen, given a gun by her boyfriend, took her life, the boyfriend, 16, changed his mind and ran to a friend's house. If found guilty, he faces up to a year in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Though this case naturally elicits compassion for the 16-year-old teenage boy, please consider how light the sentence is for this crime. If it had been Kovorkian would we want him to get away so lightly?
The state senate voted unanimously to allow mothers of newsborns to leave their babies at a hospital, similar to Kentucky. The hospital will issue matching bracelets in case the mother has a change of heart and wants to claim her child later.
Pro-abortion liberals' future use of tobacco settlement money for abortion services was stopped temporarily by pro-life legislators. Missouri Right To Life representatives stated, "The tobacco money comes unfettered by any condition. It has been made abundantly clear the executive branch will exploit any loophole in order to push public money into the hands of abortion organizations."
Pro-life legislators not only are attempting to block any of the tobacco settlement money from going to the abortion industry but are also requiring two percent of the money (three to four million dollars per year) to be earmarked for pro-life programs. Atta Way!
Now a court has placed a "value" on human life - in the amount of $150,000. In a challenge in a drunk driving case, the Iowa Supreme Court has declared a life is worth at least $150,000. The case will be considered as setting a precedent as far as the value of human life.
Though some legal authorities believe the $150,000 figure is too high, the truth is there is no price on human life for it is not replacable, and life can only be given by God. Now a person is less vaulable in the court's view than a house, a business, a farm, a boat...

Jon Daly is Joseph Baird's roommate at Thomas Aquinas College. He was with Angela when she fell, and took care of her while waiting for rescuers to reach them.
Monday, November 10, 1997
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Baird and all family,
Please allow me this opportunity to share some of my remembrances of Angela. First, I want you all to know that I am full of bittersweet sorrow at her death. At the time of her death, I was close to her in a different way from any other of my relationships at the college [Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, California]. I see more and more how much of an example she was to everyone. Always ready to help if someone needed it, she was never intrusive, and was always sincere.
On the Wednesday morning, I took her climbing with three others. While the two of us were sitting at the bottom of the cliff waiting for the others to rappel down, we talked a little about our families. We, and six others, started up to the punchbowls a little after 6:00 p.m. that night, she had a bag and a gallon of water, and her winter coat, because we were expecting it to be cold that night. We got to the top of that last hill, she and I at the end of the group. I think that we had slowed for some reason and she turned toward me. It was dark and I didn't know that we were so close, she slipped, and I could not stop her. I ran down and found her next to the cliff on her back. I could not understand her, but I took her left hand and told her to squeeze it if she could hear me. She did, and I said let's pray together. I began the Hail Mary, and those were the first words she said. Shannon Gaffney then came down and took her hand and started praying, we put blankets over Angela to keep her warm, and sent someone running for the helicopter.
|
She was one tough lady. The whole time she prayed with us instead of crying out from the great pain she was in. It was the prayer that calmed her, and we were able to talk a bit after that. I told her about Lourdes, and when we prayed, I told her to imagine Our Lady in the grotto as she saw in the movie Bernadette's Song. That morning she had told me that she loved that movie, and used to watch it over and over. She was having trouble getting out the whole prayers, and so I told her to pray in her heart, and we would pray out loud. We said the Act of Contrition and several Hail Holy Queens, Our Fathers and many Hail Marys. I was holding a shirt over the cut on her head, and when she got sleepy, I would touch her head with my thumb, and tell her "Angela, Angela, you have to stay awake." Every time I did she opened her eyes again, and stayed alert. I asked her if she wanted to have my Rosary, she nodded, and I gave it to her, putting the cross in her hand first and then the middle piece with the head of The Blessed Virgin. She took it and held it in her left hand all the way. A few times Angela asked for water, Shannon put it into a styrofoam cup and then I poured it into her mouth in little bits for her to swallow and then wet her lips with my finger. |
|
At one point she asked us to pray to her Guardian Angel; Shannon and I did, while she listened and prayed in her heart I am sure. When she was sleepy, I asked what she wanted us to pray for, and she asked us to pray for aborted babies.
By this time word had gotten to Campus, and Mark Kretschmer, John Finley, and several others had run up with First Aid and blankets, and the whole campus was in the chapel praying Novenas and Rosary upon Rosary. I remember asking her if she was happy and peaceful, and then realizing she wasn't happy and asking "Well, I know you're not happy, but are you at least peaceful?" She nodded her head. A little bit later, someone came up from the campus to Angela and said: "Angela, the whole campus is praying for you." She heard and just tipped her head back, as if her heart was pierced with love. It was a little later that the helicopter came in and started circling to find a place to land. I remember feeling flooded with joy and I am pretty sure that I saw a smile on Angela's face. They dropped two paramedics in, and went back for more. They found their way down to us, and after I told Angela I would be right near, I let go and let the paramedics in. I showed one of the paramedics the way up to the helicopter a little later to bring down another four firemen that were coming in. When I got back, she had been asking for me, and I came and took her hand and let her know I was there. I had to leave for a bit while they put her on the litter, but I came back before they took her up the mountain- side and was with her. After they got up to the landing zone they took the faceshield off, and I stayed with her until the helicopter came in. I said goodbye then, and she left.
I want all of you know that Angela was the strongest one of us down there, selfless in her prayers for the aborted babies, talking all the way to the hospital and even telling the nurses at the hospital a little of what had happened before she went into surgery. Any good that I was able to do for her was by the grace of God, and through the prayers of many. I know the doctors at the hospital were moved at her strength when she came in, and were relieved when she received the last rites. Three of the firemen came to the Memorial Mass in the fire engine. I talked to them after, and she was so calm, they expected her to pull through; they needed closure on Angela's death.
Her death has touched many people deeply. The day after her fall, Thursday, close to a hundred people from the college came down to the abortion clinic to say fifteen decades, and the chaplet of Divine Mercy; where Angela had been without fail for more than a month every Thursday. The Memorial Mass said for her was over flowing the seats, and the singing was some of the most beautiful there has ever been.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
In the love of Christ,
Jon Daly
| Information posted on the website,
www.bairds.net, dedicated to Angela, by her parents:
As she lay waiting and dying, Angela prayed for two intentions specifically; aborted babies and her dad. She did not complain of the pain, she merely prayed the Rosary and to her guardian angel. The students, rescue workers, and medical staff who were with Angela in her last hours all were amazed at her courage and peaceful demeanor, despite the pain from a broken back, pelvis, arm, two legs, and massive internal injuries and bleeding. As rumours came down from the mountain, that a student had fallen, students quickly filled up the school chapel in prayer. John Finley and Mark Kretschmer, upon hearing of the accident, climbed up the trail to Angela, bringing what medical supplies that were on hand at the campus. The paramedics carried her out of the ravine to a place where she could be lifted to the helicopter and flown to nearby Ventura County Hospital. Angela was still alert, with Jon's rosary still in her hand. At the hospital, Father Bartholomew de la Torre, a TAC chaplain, administered the Last Sacraments, and she was wheeled into surgery. Her heart stopped on the operating table, and could not be revived. It was 1:00 a.m. on November 6th. **********************

Last fall, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) commemorated "The Day of 6 Billion" — Tuesday, October 12, 1999 — as the theoretical date on which world population reached 6 billion persons. Several other organizations joined in observing the day, termed by UNFPA executive director Nafis Sadik as a "milestone in the steady growth of human population."
The "event" was noted by all major U.S. news networks and included a series of "Year of 6 Billion" special reports televised on CNN, owned by population control zealot Ted Turner.
Less than six months later, it appears the UN is reversing its predictions of overpopulation. In a March 21, 2000 report titled Replacement Migration, the Population Division of the UN Secretariat says that immigration is the only hope for many countries to maintain existing levels of working-age populations.
Austin Ruse, president of the New York City-based Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute, summarized the UN's findings. In the March 31 issue of Friday Fax, Ruse wrote that the report cites "two ongoing trends that are both 'striking' and 'critical: population decline and population aging.' In addition, the study reflects policy decisions made by governments over the past half century to decrease the fertility rate of its citizens."
Ruse continued, "The result is that many countries are experiencing the new phenomenon called 'below replacement fertility' whereby populations are no longer having enough children to replace themselves . The long-term results of below-replacement fertility are aging populations, and eventual population decline. Additionally these countries face the decline in the overall number of active workers (those between 15 and 65 years old)."
This decrease in the working-age population suggests that "retirement ages will have to increase, that retirement and medical benefits will have to change, and that financial support paid by workers for retired persons may also have to increase dramatically."
Fr. Richard Welch of Human Life International echoed Ruse's summary in more blunt terms. In a March 30, 2000 EWTN Feature Story, titled Experts Show Economic Disadvantages of Abortion, Welch said, "Abortion isn't just morally wrong, it's economically stupid." Predicting that economic decline will inevitably result from abortions, he explained,
"It should have been easy to predict the impact of abortion on economics. 'No children' first means no toys, no baby food, no baby clothes, no pediatric services, no schools. . . Of course, as this aborted generation - we are talking about nearly 1/3 of the people conceived in America since 1973, the oldest of whom would now be in their late twenties - fails to grow up, they fail to buy houses, cars, clothes, groceries. They don't join the work force, don't contribute to the tax base, social security, rising property values and other consumer services. People's homes, their most important economic asset, don't increase in value, retirement plans are jeopardized . . . there is no one there to compensate for the losses in projected growth."He continued, "Abortion has increased out-of-wedlock births, driven down the marriage rate, raised the divorce rate and, not coincidentally, coincided with parallel increases in child abuse and sexually transmitted diseases. The social costs are enormous. The economic costs of each of those factors are terrible. . . As more time passes and abortion skews our population, creates disparities in population aging, and begins to make its long term economic impact felt, those who are unable to see the clear moral wrong will be forced to face the clear economic disaster."
Fr. Welch concluded, "Abortion is in the process of making America a second-class nation, spiritually and economically."
Abortionist Stephen Pack, married, with two children, proved once again that women are not given true choice when it comes to pregnancy. The nurse he was having sex with was carrying his child and did not want to kill the child in her womb.
When the nurse refused to abort the child, Pack attacked her with a syringe filled with methotrexate, mostly used as an abortifacient drug. Yelling, "I'm giving you an abortion!" Pack stabbed her with the needle six times. The woman is undergoing treatment to attempt to reverse the effects of the drug.
Several interesting points need to be highlighted in the coverage of the abortionist Pack, who tried to kill a preborn child by an injection of methotrexate. When story broke in newspapers nationwide, the terminology used in the description of the pregnant nurse was "the 6-to-8-week unborn child," New York Times, April 15 and in Arizona, the headline blared, "Doctor charged in bid to forcibly abort baby," The Arizona Republic, April 17. The New York Post, April 16, in an article on the incident printed, "the effect on the unborn child."
If a baby is wanted, it's human but if it is not wanted, it is a product of conception, a fetus, an embryo. That would not be surprising terminology for the pro-death squad but when the so-called fact-reporting news outlets play the same game, the message to the public is that if you are not valued in the eyes of other people, you don't deserve to live.
Is that what is happening to the view of the elderly and the handicapped in today's world? What will be next group of people noted as not valued? Christians?

A special vigil was held the week after the Good Friday Prayer Vigil in front of Planned Parenthood. On April 29, Children of the Rosary sponsored a prayer vigil in front of a medical building on 15th Avenue, in Phoenix.
Fred Stimmill, formerly a hired abortionist for Planned Parenthood, apparently chose to make more money by killing babies at his office location.
Stimmill runs a medical practice that advertises the killing of preborn children. The office, Woman's Choice, 5040 N. 15th Avenue, suite 204, is anything but a woman's choice. A woman's choice is life but an abortionist's choice is the cold hard cash handed over before the killing can take place. For many years, pro-lifers had hoped that Stimmill would get out of the abortion business, but it seems he has now slipped deeper in the darkness of evil.
The vigil was a success in the amount of people attending it on short notice. The people going into the medical building were surprised by the prayer warriors present and signs telling of the abortionist inside.
The office personnel and doctors in the building were notified ahead of time that people would be protesting by prayer and presence at the building. It is well worth noting not one medical professional came out of the building in support of the prayer presence.
Since the vigil was on a Saturday morning, it is possible that offices did not realize it had even occurred if their office was closed for the week end.
It is important that we continue to pray there every week. Fred Stimmill, through previous conversations with him, surely knows we not only care about the babies being killed there, the mothers suffering from the abuse of abortion, but that we care about him also. Not many abortionists can survive this killing business with sanity and any semblance of goodness and decency in their hearts.
You might even know some of the medical offices in the building or have gone to the building yourself, not knowing babies are dying there. If you know one of the businesses listed, please call them and discuss the problem with them.
