Letters To the Editor
Thank you for the two free issues of Children of the Rosary. I am not Catholic, but we share the same convictions regarding the sanctity of the unborn. Please find enclosed a check to help in defense of the womb and those within it. Please also send the newsletter to my daughter.
In Christ's unboundless love,
Teresa Parks
Then I want you to send your newsletter to a pro-life friend of mine who is working for the unborn in Texas. The information in the newsletter will give her a lot of "ammunition" which she doesn't have now.
May God bless you,
Fr. Joe Cain, O.S.C.
Phoenix, AZ
Miscarriages: Some miscarriages occur without the knowledge of the prospective mother. The fetal material is disposed of as ordinary waste. We believe that life begins at conception so how do we explain what happens to the soul of the fetus and why is there no ceremony to commemorate the lost life?
Some miscarriages occur in a Catholic hospital while the prospective mother is under the care of a Catholic doctor. These are medically impossible to stop. The same questions occur as above. How is the fetal material disposed of and why is there no ceremony after the procedure?
Rape: It's bad enough for a mature person to become pregnant after a rape, but what about a girl under the age of 12? Is there any case where a therapeutic procedure could be acceptable?
I would appreciate your answers, or being referred to a competent authority. Thank you.
George
Ed. Note: We encourage your comments and informaton concerning these questions.
Delta Pharmaceutical Group has announced plans to fund clinical trials for the drugs methotrexate and misprostol to induce abortions. The November issue of Self dedicated an entire page to the subject with little mention of the dangers of abortion.

Blacks women constitute only about 26% of the female population (age 15-44) in the United States, but they underwent approximately 36% of the abortions (Morbidity and mortality Weekly Report, U.S. Census Bureau, December 18, 1992, Centers for Disease Control).

In The Wall Street Journal, September 25,, the article, Many Doctors Who Don't Do Abortions Say They would Offer an Abortion Pill, says it all. The article, by Elyse Tanouye states, "Moreover, fewer physicians might offer abortions in the future as current abortion providers age and the younger ones avoid the procedure." Breaking the information into regions, Tanouye continued, "Midwest obstetrician/gyncologists were least likely to perform abortions - 16% of them offer abortion service. But in the Northeast, 46% of obstetrician/gyncologists perform abortions, as do 44% of the physicians in the West."

Colorado Gov. Roy Romer recommends restricting rights of parents over their children, stemming from the U.N.'s Rights of the Child Treaty. Though many people could not believe it could happen, Romer defended his position of trying to restrict the rights of parents over children, stating that there can be "conflicting self-interests."

"Colorado's petition for a hearing on the state's right to restrict the use of public funds for abortion was rejected by the court because a commercial meter machine was used to date the brief, rather than the official stamp of the U.S. Post Office." quoted from The Wanderer, November 9. The report continued that the time had not elapsed yet when this decision was announced. The article continued, "In 1984, the people of Colorado passed an amendment to the constitution which sharply curtailed tax-funded abortions, limiting them to "life of the mother" cases. The law was nullified by President Clinton on Christmas Day, 1993, when he ordered states to provide Medicaid coverage for abortion."

Melissa Smart , 33, chose life for her preborn baby by not undergoing cancer treatments to save her own life. The Arizona Republic, September 29, reported that doctors informed her that she would need to abort her child to ensure her survival of up to five years. Her boyfriend stated, "She never acted frightened; she never gave up. She was the bravest person I ever saw." Melissa succumbed to cancer 18 days after the birth of her daughter.

U.S. Catholic bishops stated clearly November 4th that "We stand with the unborn and the undocumented when many politicians seem to be abandoning them." according to an Associated Press release November 5, 1995. They declared that they were not tied to any political party or group. Catholic teaching is very clear that it is morally wrong for a person to vote for a pro-abortion candidate.

"Rock For Choice" is a major effort to reach teens by the abortion industry through music. "Rock For Choice " sponsors concerts around the country. Life Decisions International (LDI) exposed some of the pro-abortion bands that perform at these concerts. LDI reports "Bands lending their talents to the right to kill children before birth include Babes in Toyland, Ebony Vibe Everlasting, Johnette Napolitano, That Dog, Melissa Ferrick, Cassanda Wilson, Joan Jett and L7." Also included are Nirvana, Hole, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. LDI concentrates their efforts to expose Planned Parenthood and eliminate corporate support of the death machine. O Jesus! Meek and humble of heart, hear me
From the desire of being esteemed,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, Jesus
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase, and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
That others become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Due to the high volumn of news and information we strive to present to you, we will print pro-life center information, boycott list, telephone sign-up form, shirts and product information forms only in the Newsletter. Please cut out the information you need or make a copy of the page for a daily or weekly reference.
Check with your church or parish to see if they have a current copy of the pro-life centers. They will also need a copy of the boycott list so that when companies, like Target, slip in with a "charity" offer, your church will not be embarrassed by publishing the information.
(Check the Boycott page for the listing of companies)
PLEASE NOTE: It is important to try to avoid any company who supports abortion. Your purchases would actually enable a company to prosper and will allow them more discrechinary funds for the abortion industry. Let the company know that you will not purchase from them, use their services or invest via stocks or insurance.
We deleted the following companies from the boycott list: Red Lobster, Olive Garden, K-Mart, Readers Digest, Avon. We have added Taco Bell and its parent corporation, Pepsico ,due to their matching-donation policy which has given money to Planned Parenthood. We wanted you to have a more complete list before you go shopping.
United Way (**) is on this list since they list Planned Parenthood clinics as places suggested for volunteering! Baby Arizona (*) is connected to Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby and both refer for abortions. We have taken Avon off the list due to incomplete information available.
Note of interest: Snapple, a fast growing, very successful small company, reports a severe drop in sales after being purchased by Quaker Oats. Economic reports suggest several reasons. None listed the fact that most conservatives are pro-life and pro-lifers know how to boycott! Yes, Quarter Oats also listed a severe drop in profits in the fourth quarter of 1994.
Keep writing these companies, telling them why you refuse to support them!
