As pro-lifers pray outside A-Z abortuary, where children are killed up to the 24th week, Bishop Thomas J. O'Brien and priests from the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix join in the prayer to end abortion.

As of April 3, 1996, teens have another chance to think the matter of abortion through, before making the decision. Teenagers will need parental consent or review from a judge before obtaining an abortion in Arizona.
For three years there has been a moratorium on any bills that involve abortion. Six years ago a parental consent bill was passed through the legislature and sent to the then-governor Rose Mofford. She refused to sign the bill, stating she believed it was unconstitutional. Though it was proven LEGAL through later court challenges in other states, the bill was never signed.
This year, under the pro-abortion governor, Fife Symington, bills were introduced in the house, since the moratorium was lifted. Unfortunately too many deals were made on the previous attempts tagging the parental consent bill in with money being given to Planned Parenthood. It was the courage of the pro-life legislators, especially from the east Valley, that the tri-bills were defeated. This bill is finally one that has no benefits for the death squad of Planned Parenthood.
Within days of the passage of the parental consent bill, Gov. Fife Symington signed it. Though Symington is a supporter of Planned Parenthood (PP), his wife being related to the infamous Margaret Sanger, the majority of Arizonans want the parental rights given back to them in regards to their children.
Though Gloria Feldt, who has just been named as the new national talking-head of PP, denounced the passage of the bill, stating it "was a travesty" there was little the industry's major baby-killers could do.
PP continually pleas that it is necessary for teenagers to have abortions because they have been raped or are victims of incest, yet we see no actions on their part to report the rapist, and or the family member who committed the incest. The fact is that there are relatively few cases of this sort. The majority of unwanted pregnancies in the teen population come from the use of condoms and birth control pills.
It would have been a wise choice for PP to encourage the notification of the teen's pregnancy to the parents but then they really don't care. Remember Sanger's own words: "The most merciful thing a large family can do to one of its infant members is to kill it."

There have been many defenders of the innocent preborn child in the Congress of the United States on the passage of the partial birth abortion procedure ban bill. The closing statement on the floor of the House of Representatives, March 27, 1996 was given by Rep. Henry Hyde (IL)
"I listened with great intensity to the debate this evening. It is an important debate. I heard the gentleman from Vermont talk about humility, and he is absolutely right. You do not deal with people's lives in a sense of arrogance at all. But at the same time, if you believe you are right, if you are convinced that you possess the truth and you remain silent, you become the accomplice of liars and forgers. I just ascribe the failure to consider the unborn, and I listened to all of the impassioned remarks of my friends on the other side: they never talk about the unborn. It is the woman, it is her family, it is her doctor, but the little tiny infant in the shadows, the absent person, the invisible person, is the unborn, and that is a failure of imagination. That is a compassion deficit.
"Mr. Speaker, I guess you have to be healthy to be born. I guess our Declaration of Independence, when it talked about the right to life being inalienable, should have said if you are healthy, if you are healthy. God help you if you are handicapped before you are born. But, if you make it through the birth canal, we will give you a preferred parking place. "That is the way we deal with those situations. No, the partial birth abortion, which is just what it is, it is not an exercise of reproductive rights, and it is not a fetus. It is an abortion. It is not a termination of a pregnancy. It is an extermination of a defenseless little life whose little arms and little legs are wiggling until that scissors gets shoved in his neck and then they stiffen. We heard that testimony. Some of you heard that testimony. There is a coursening of our national conscience when you tolerate this form of torture.
"Catholic bishops. [See "Bits and Pieces," p.8] Thank God somebody cares about this grotesquery. Thank God, I do not think that invalidates those charts. A political goal? If defending human dignity is political, then I plead guilty. But somebody has to speak up for that little defenseless child almost born, three-quarters born, just the little head left, and they brutally kill that little child, and you do it in the name of compassion. I am sorry, I think that is a coursening, a desensitizing of our conscience.
"This bill outlaws a uniquely barbaric method of abortion. Even to describe it is painful, but it is not as painful as the pain that little unborn child feels. If steel traps are too brutal for wild animals, what is too brutal for a tiny member of the human family, an almost-born infant? Have you heard of PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? We need a PETA for humans, people for the ethical treatment of tiny, defenseless, cannot rise up in the streets, cannot vote, cannot escape members of the human family. You would not treat a coyote like you treat this little almost-born baby.
"Members keep insisting the Government should not intervene. Well, I know some Members are for Government intervention in everything but abortion. I understand that. But who will speak for the baby if the Government does not? What is the purpose of law to protect the weak from the strong? What is weaker than a little child almost born and you destroy that child in a barbaric way? No, I am glad the Government is there. I am not that libertarian that I do not think that Government should not protect the weak from the strong.
***********************************
"We had four anesthesiologists
tell us those little babies feel pain."
***********************************
"The only thing Members consider is the autonomy of the woman, the woman. Well, God bless the woman, and she needs help and care and love and nurturing. But what about the little baby? Why do you leave that out of your equation, our of your calculus?
"We had four anesthesiologists tell us those little babies feel pain. That is why they get anesthesia. One of the head of the anesthesiology department at Emory University says the pre-term baby feels pain more than when it is born. That validates the title `"Silent Scream.'' What about the pain felt by the little baby? Not a word, not a word.
" Is there anything, is there anything we say no to? Is everything permitted? God help us if that is true. Let us draw the line here. This should not be tolerated.

Abortionists have an ongoing problem. Abortions are messy and ugly. They make an effort to disguise the obscenity in euphemistic language. They misrepresent the process to their woman clients. But somehow, the gruesome idea of slicing up a living tiny baby in the womb lacks appeal even to the most hard-hearted of us.
Cancer medication is very poisonous. Remember our friends on it, who took it and vomited and their hair fell out? We knew just what poison they were taking because they had to poison their bodies to get rid of cancer which had become, afterall, a part of their cell structure.
It was inevitable that some smart abortionist would figure out that if cancer medication kills human cells, it surely ought to do well on killing a baby. What a brainstorm! Planned Parenthood, drooling at the idea of the added income from a generation which already considers taking a pill the ultimate cure for everything, stepped up a campaign to portray taking this poisonous medication as not much more than taking sugar pills.
There is lots Planned Parenthood and the other exuberant supporters of the cancer abortion pill don't tell their hapless clients, such as the perfuse bleeding which often takes place or the excruciating cramps women who scar a woman for the rest of her life in witnessing a murder which she had a part in committing?
As a matter of fact, it's more convenient for the abortionist because he doesn't have to worry about disposing of the infant carcasses. Mother flushes her baby down the toilet - if she can bear to do so.
Not having surgery to abort a baby appeals to most women, not receiving information of what a chemical abortion is all about, they are totally unprepared for the mental and physical pain in store for them.
The RU486 pill has not been approved by the FDA despite an all-out effort by Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to push an approval through. The trials didn't go as expected. Women suffered and bled. Side effects ran rampant, requiring hospital stays for many women and cutting into the profits for the abortionists. And in as high a percentage as one-third of the cases, a surgical abortion had to be done anyway because the pill did not work. (Notice how the media has not said a word about this?)
Knowing how poisonous the cancer drugs are, I predict that abortion with the cancer pill will be similar to abortion with the RU486.
It's much more difficult to live through the ordeal abortion pills cause than to have a surgical abortion. But then, a surgical abortion still remains messy and ugly.
Does the Planned Parenthood sugar coating of the process in aborting with the cancer and RU486 drugs remind you of something? Think about Genesis where the serpent told Eve that surely she wouldn't die (as God said she would) when she ate the fruit from the tree. The serpent lied, of course, and the tone of sincerity in his voice was all fake. Eve found out too late, as do many unlucky women who make the wrong choice of abortion ... by any method.
Isn't it interesting that our miraculous science has not yet figured out a way to make killing our pre-born infants easy and painless. I wonder what God is trying to tell us?
It's time to get ready for Mother's Day. Ask your pro-life representative to have special remembrances placed in the church bulletin to pray that all mothers choose life.
This is also an excellent time to have a Cradle Sunday. A simple bulletin notice several weeks before Mother's Day could request that church members start collecting baby clothes, food, toys and furniture for the event.
A few people sitting at a Mother's Day table could collect the items for a crisis center.
This is also an wonderful day to have roses available for donations as a sign of respect for life.

Gloria Feldt, Director of Central and Northern Arizona Planned Parenthood has been named as the next national leader for the largest baby-killing business. Though we are happy that she will no longer be personally heading the Arizona abortion industry, she still will be hard to forget since her face will be flashed across the evening news whenever there is a challenge to baby-killing in this country.
Feldt leaves her position here, though, in defeat. It was during her death watch, that Arizona was victorious in trying to protect teenage girls and innocent babies. She had to witness the passage and signing of the Parental Consent Bill and is aware that Gov. Symington has agreed to and encouraged legislation of informed consent of women before they have an abortion.
Feldt is not happy with the protection Arizona will now provide the youth in this state from the money hungry abortionists. She indicated that this law will delay, but not stop the teen from getting an abortion. She stated that the legal procedure would cause the teen to be forced to have her abortion in the second trimester, rather than the first trimester. Of course this is untrue.
In responding to a direct question of whether this law would be another chip in the wall in the fight to end legalized abortion, she stated, "It is the same as reducing access to abortion services for any woman of any age and it will be the first of many, I think, if this is allowed to stand."
In defense of her stand not to notify parents when a teen requests an abortion, Feldt gave grime statistics, saying "70% of the teens under the age of 18 do consult with their parents. That is good. For teens younger than 15, 90% do but we have to understand that life is not the perfect Ozzi and Harriet family for every teen and we have to be able to accommodate that and going through a judicial process is not the way to do it." Her statements reflect her sad view of the world.
It is important to state that her statement on percentages is false. Furthermore the pro-choice interviewer never questioned her why young girls under 15 were becoming pregnant. In a recent survey it was shown that the majority of teens in Arizona are pregnant by older men, not the teenage boy "who just couldn't control himself." It should be called rape!
Feldt continued with another statement which is the major problem with the abortion providers - speaking untruths and scaring people. "What about carrying a pregnancy to term and delivering a baby? That is, for a teen 10 to 20 times more dangerous physically than having an abortion."
An interesting point to be brought up is that Gloria disclosed that she married at the age of 15 and had three children before she was twenty. She did not state not indicate that at any time she was in danger of death.
We need to continue to pray for this woman who has a habit of smiling every time she said the word 'abortion.' We remember what our Lord said on the cross: "Forgive them, Father for they know not what they do."
March of Dimes has succeeded in deceiving the American public concerning its quiet affiliation with Planned Parenthood. Throughout the years, people blindly collected money in their neighborhoods for this "wonderfully caring organization" that does research to end birth defects.
What the vast majority of people need to know is that Planned Parenthood has been closely connected with March of Dimes. When March of Dimes was included on our boycott list several years ago, we received many inquiries and challenges to the reason this fine organization would be listed.
The following quote, from Grand Illusions, by George Grant, will serve to explain the close connection the two death organizations have.
"Since the early sixties, it [March of Dimes] has increasingly turned its attention away from curing genetic disorders and birth defects to detecting and eliminating them. (64) And, as a result, amniocentesis and abortion have become its chief concerns, consuming a vast majority of its funding. (65) Instead of trying to solve the problem of birth defects, the March of Dimes now disposes of those problems by funding 'search and destroy' missions.
"Eighty-eight percent of all March of Dimes geneticists favor abortion-on-demand. (66) Seventy-one percent argue that if amniocenteses diagnostic tests prove a child to be defective, he should be terminated regardless of the stage of pregnancy. (67) A large number even revealed that they were involved in live fetal experimentation and fetal harvesting. (68) This despite the persistent claims of the organization that is 'abortion neutral'. (69)
"The connection between the March of Dimes and Planned Parenthood is not just philosophical. Many faithful donors would be shocked to discover that the money they have given over the years to 'help fight birth defects' has actually wound up in Planned Parenthood coffers.
"In 1980. for instance, the March of Dimes gave more than one-half million dollars to a Planned Parenthood abortionist for a major research project. (70)
"The results of the study, published in Obstetrics and Gynecology, have been widely heralded in pro-abortion circles and selectively circulated by Planned Parenthood affiliates all around the country." (71)

Obviously by this short excerpt from Grand Illusions, by George Grant (a must book for your library) no one should be dealing with this death purveyor. March of Dimes has made a deliberate effort to hide their true agenda.
Local offices of March of Dimes in Phoenix, when questioned on this subject, denied any knowledge of the abortion support and abortion connection. No one should donate to them nor should any diocese be accepting the blood money from them. - K.S.

It was announced "Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, in Lincoln Nebraska will excommunicate Catholics who belong to abortion rights, right-to-die or Masonic organizations." The USA Today article, March 25, quoted Bishop Bruskewitz, "Members of these organizations...most often is totally incompatible with the Catholic faith." The Bishop stated, "Catholics who belong to such groups as Planned Parenthood won't be allowed to receive Holy Communion as of April 15. If they are still members on May 15, they will be excommunicated."
Cathoic News Service reported "Also included in the list of organizations to be excommunicated: traditionalist groups that do not support church reforms since Vatican II, and groups affiliated with the Freemasons, the bishop said."
Southern Nebraska Register, the Lincoln diocesan newspaper quoted the statement, "Membership in these organizations or groups is always perilous to the Catholic faith and most often is totally incompatible with the Catholic faith," said an announcement, which was published March 22
This type of action should be taking place throughout the United States. We encourage you to communicate with the Bishop of your Diocese, informing him of this positive pro-life action.
It should be noted that many conservative talk show hosts applauded the actions of Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz for making clear the Catholic Church's stand against abortion and euthanasia.
The Southern Nebraska Register, the Lincoln diocesan newspaper, explained the " 'extra-synodal legislation' was dated March 9 and signed by Msgr. Timothy Thorburn, chancellor of the Lincoln Diocese, "by mandate of" Bishop Bruskewitz."
The Diocesan paper continued:
"Any Catholics 'in or of the Diocese of Lincoln who attain or retain membership' in any of the organizations after April 15 are automatically 'under interdict and are absolutely forbidden to receive holy Communion.'
"Contumacious persistence in such membership for one month following the interdict on part of any such Catholics will by that very fact (`ipso facto latae sententiae') cause them to be excommunicated.
"The Latin phrase "ipso facto latae sententiae" means "by that very fact the sentence will be carried out."
"Publication of the notice by the Southern Nebraska Register should be considered 'a formal canonical warning,' "
You can help the Church, the Holy Father and Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz by sending letters of support to him at 3400 Sheridan Ave., Lincoln, Nebraska 68501.
